St. Paul’s Cathedral
Located in “the City,” the oldest part of London, is St. Paul’s Cathedral, one of Christopher Wren’s finest masterpieces.  Though the current structure dates from 1675, a cathedral dedicated to Saint Paul has existed there on Ludgate Hill since the 7th Century.  St. Paul’s was the site for well-known services such as Winston Churchill’s funeral and the royal wedding of Charles and Diana.

Fun Facts

  • To be a chorister boy in St. Paul’s Cathedral, you must go through a rigorous audition.  If accepted, there are two rehearsals every day to prepare for the Sunday service and many other special services.  The boys also have to participate in their normal activities such as school and sports, as well as studying piano and one other instrument.

  • St. Paul’s Cathedral is the fourth structure to be built on those same grounds.
